Monthly Meeting Minutes
1. Meeting Called to Order at 7:20 by President Leonard Mc Gee
2. Community Introduction took place. One aldermanic candidate was in attendance (Bob Fioretti)
3. Motion made and passed to defer the reading of the Minutes from January meetings. February’s meeting was cancel at the last minute because the area was without electricity. The following links will take you to the minutes should you wish to review them.

4. Treasurer Report was given by President Mc Gee in Brandon’s absences. A total of $3,894.08 is our current balance. It was noted that receipts from the printing of meeting flyers need to be turneded. Motion to accept report was passed.
5. Area Representative Report

No reports were given.
6. President Report
Talk with Mayor Richard Daley (about 35th Street and Dunbar Park) February 15, 2007 and the mayor informed Leonard that he would like to walk 35th street sometime soon. Leonard will follow up on this after the April elections
Pilgrim progress on opening street and alley. The date to open 33 rd street has been move back to the end of April. The alley should open sometime in the summer.
There will be a combined 2112 and 211 CAPS meeting on March 15, 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at DeLaSalle High School. Both Commander Helms and Commander Lodding will be present. Please come out and meet your neighbors and police officers.
7. Announcements
New Pastor will be installed for Pilgrim on March 18, 2007 at Liberty Baptist Church 4:00 p.m.
New street lights were installed on 32nd & Prairie
8. Report Development in the Community
Housing Committee Report was presented and plans for a new, single family home at 3201 South Calumet were reviewed by the group. Motion to accept the housing report was passed.
9. Community Projects Update
a. Pilgrim working to open street by end of 33rd by April 30 (see above)
b. Pilgrim working to open the alley by July 30 ( recovery of documents is slowing this process)
10. Summer Planning
a. Spring Clean and Green (April) Leonard will look into getting some help from the city on this day and will also confirm the exact day.
b. Peter McCauley reported that the committee for the Summer Sizzle has been talking and my the April meeting they will have suggested dates and some updates.
c. Summer Dinner Dance … There were no committee members present. Leonard will take charge on this and form a group to plan the dance.
11. Speak Out
a. Members would like a debate between aldermanic candidates (2nd & 3rd Ward) before the April 17th election. Bob Fioretti who was at this meeting agreed on the spot. Leonard will contact the League of Women Voters to make arrangements so that it is an unbiased debate.
b. Glenn Richardson, a Giles resident asked the GAP organization to write a letter on his behalf stating that we would like to see a resident given first priority to opening a business on the State and 35th Street. The group passed an amended motion that a letter would be written stating our preference, but would like more information as to what issues are present.
12. Motion to Pay Bills was made and passed.
13. Motion to Adjourn at 8:20
